About Us

Who We Are

O'Joy is a non-profit social service organization dedicated to enhancing the well-being of seniors and adults with mental health conditions. We provide comprehensive support through tailored services including counselling, care management, and active ageing activities aimed at promoting physical, mental, and social wellness.

How We Started

In response to these emerging societal shifts, O'Joy Care Services was established in early 2004 by a group of social workers and professional counsellors. The primary goal was to address the rising need for prevention and early intervention in mental health disorders while promoting healthy aging among older individuals. The name "O’Joy" symbolizes "Oceans of Joy," reflecting our aspiration to enable joy through our services and programs.

We offer a secure environment where our team of professionally trained counselors assists individuals aged 50 and above, or those dealing with older persons, in navigating issues such as relationship challenges, grief and loss, and caregiver stress. These services, available in English, Mandarin, Malay, and local dialects, can be accessed at our center or in the comfort of their homes.

Where We Are Today

Since our inception as a charity providing counselling and casework services for older persons, we have evolved into a comprehensive mental health care and community wellness organization, incorporating a social enterprise. Since 2012, we have extended our services to individuals aged 18 and above at risk of or diagnosed with depression, anxiety, or dementia.

In 2013, our Health-Oriented Ageing (HOA) community in the Upper Boon Keng area began to thrive, attracting retirees and those considering retirement. Members actively engage in various activities designed to shape their retirement years into a period of peace and fulfillment.

From April 2020, we transitioned to operate as a Company Limited by Guarantee, known as O’Joy Limited, a move aimed at enhancing our governance structure.
